For this artist, flamenco is not simply a genre — it is a way of life. Three formative years living in the historic city of Jerez de la Frontera allowed for a deep immersion into the soul of this powerful art form. The cobbled streets of Jerez whispered their secrets, and those lessons were absorbed firsthand.
During his stay in Jerez, he had the incredible privilege of studying under the tutelage of some of the most esteemed flamenco families. Mentored by lineages such as Los Jeros and the Morao family, he became part of an artistic circle where flamenco is passed down orally, generation to generation — the most authentic way to learn.
Manuelito Jero and his father Niño Jero, affectionately known as "Periquin", opened the doors to their world, imparting their profound knowledge and entrusting David with the essence of flamenco.
Among the figures who shaped this journey are Manuelito Jero, a true flamenco virtuoso, and his father Niño Jero, renowned for his unique guitar approach. A close friendship with Pepe del Morao further enriched this musical path, leaving a lasting influence that is still heard in every performance today.
In addition to these formative relationships, one-on-one lessons were undertaken with some of flamenco’s most respected artists, including: Jose Galvaz, Martin Chico, Diego Morao, Juan Diego Mateos, Miguel Salado, Manuel Valencia, Jose Ignacio Franco, Eziquiel Benitez, Eduardo Rebollar, Ane Carrasco, and Diego Carrasco. Each of these maestros played a vital role in shaping David's unique style and musical identity — from soniquete and compás to humility, tradition, and truth.
Blending the soul-stirring depth of traditional flamenco with a contemporary sensibility, these performances are a heartfelt tribute to the living culture of Jerez de la Frontera. Every concert is an invitation — to feel the passion, energy, and raw emotion of flamenco in its purest form.
